STAMIGOLD Company Limited – Biharamulo Mine is a subsidiary company of the State Mining Corporation (STAMICO) operating a gold mine. The Mine is located in the Biharamulo Forest Reserve, South West of Mwanza in Kagera Region. In order to run the mine effectively and efficiently, the Company invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill the existing vacancies as detailed below: -

Work Station: Biharamulo Mine Site

Contract Duration:  33 months, subject to renewal

Work Roster: 6/3

1.0 Power House Operator (02) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates, maintains and performs overhauling power station engines;
  • Communicates with systems operators to regulate and coordinate transmission loads and frequencies, and line voltages;
  • Examines and testes electrical power distribution machinery and equipment, using testing devices;
  • Inspects records and log book entries, and communicate with other plant personnel, in order to assess equipment operating status;
  • Other duties in line with this job title as assigned by the Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Form four level of education with technical certificate in Institution Electrical or Instrumentation from recognized institution;
  • At least one-year experience in the same field preferably to the mining sector;
  • Previous experience in Power house operation will be an added advantage

2.0 Boilermaker (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installs and repairs equipment;
  • Reads blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures;
  • Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;
  • Sets up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);
  • Operates angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
  • Repairs machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;
  • Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;
  • Maintains equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety;
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

  • Holder of Certificate of Secondary School Education with vocational training in welding from recognized institution.
  • At least one (1) year working experience.

3.0 Fitter Mechanic (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures workplace is kept in a safe working condition and mechanical work across the Biharamulo mine site is carried out safely, professionally and efficiently;
  • Carries out preventative maintenance and provide accurate and timely feedback to the Mechanical Foreman on condition that may affect the assets functionality;
  • Carries out trouble shooting, faultfinding and corrective maintenance in order to solve unplanned equipment, unavailability event and provide accurate and timely feedback to the Mechanical Supervisor on condition that may affect the assets functionality;
  • Ensures that the in charge of the shift and all stakeholders are kept informed on equipment availability status;
  • Ensures mechanical repair and preventative of sag mill, CIL Slurry pump and solution pumps, lab machinery, agitators’ mixers, transfer chute, Hooper bean, pipes, process plant mechanical equipment including conveyors and other equipment;
  • Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holders of Certificate of Vocational Training in Fitter Mechanics from recognized institution with at least three (03) years’ experience;
  • Experience in the Mining Industry will be an added advantage.

4.0 Senior Environmental Officer (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assesses the progress made by the mine on the implementation of environmental programs;
  • Trains SBM stakeholders on environmental issues;
  • Prepares environmental management plans and mine closure plan(s);
  • Prepares the mine’s environmental management audit plans and budget;
  • Prepares proposal for environmental management research;
  • Formulates and recommends mines environmental management policies;
  • Studies and commends on environmental consultant’s report;
  • Develops individual objectives/targets and performance standards as part of individual performance agreement in consultation with the immediate supervisor and;
  • Performs other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor

  • Holder of Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management from a recognized Institution.
  • Five (5) years working experience in similar field.
  • He/she must be computer literate.

5.0 Senior Procurement Officer (01) Post

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares Annual Procurement Plan (APP);
  • Checks and prepares statements of requirements;
  • Prepares tendering documents;
  • Prepares advertisements of tender opportunities;
  • Issues approved contract documents;
  • maintain a list or register of all contracts awarded;
  • Coordinates performance of the Goods Inspection and Acceptance Committee;
  • Prepares report on procurement and other related records;
  • Carries out any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor.

  • High capacity of investigation and establishing factual findings;
  • Good analytical;
  • Interpersonal and relationship building;
  • Adoptability;

Minimum Qualifications

  • Holder of a Bachelor degree in Procurement and Logistics Management or equivalent, possession of Certified Procurement and Supplies Professional (CPSP) and registered by Procurement Professional Board in Approved Category and having least five (5) years working experience, two (2) of which must be in senior level.
  • Experience in the mining Industry will be an added advantage.
  • Possession of Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • He/She must be computer literate.

6.0 Mobile Equipment Operator (04) Posts

Duties and responsibilities:

  • The operator is expected to use the front-end loader effectively and safely to ensure high productivity as well as to appreciate the machine’s maintenance and optimum working parameters
  • Performs routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fuelling, and cleaning
  • Participates in making sure the quality and quantity of feed materials to the crusher/hopper bin meets established standards
  • Ensures assigned established performance indicators are met
  • Report any hazard, incident or accident to his/her immediate supervisor in a timely manner
  • Inspect and document any machine’s defect and report to your immediate supervisor
  • Other duties aligning to the job as assigned by the supervisor

7.0 General Mining Assistant (02) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all tasks associated with dewatering activities in the pit
  • Assist pit supervision in pit level controlling using laser machine, where necessary;
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) of the drilled pattern prior charging commencing;
  • Perform sampling activities on RC/DD/production rig
  • Participates on charging and blasting activities;
  • Adheres and obey all working procedures in safety manner;
  • Complies with STAMIGOLD environmental standards and policies;
  • Other duties aligning to the job as assigned by the supervisor.

8.0 Driver (02) Posts

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs inspection to the assigned vehicle prior driving;
  • Drives company vehicles as assigned by the supervisor;
  • Reports vehicle mechanical defects discovered to the respective Superior;
  • Keeps record(s) of vehicle movements, distance covered within its logbook;
  • Reports vehicle physical damage to the respective Superior;
  • Ensures all safety standards are adhered to at all times;
  • Performs routine vehicle services;

  • Able to complete tasks in a timely manner at desirable standards;

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Holders of Secondary School certificate;
  • Must have Class ‘C’ Tanzania driving license;
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in the respective work.
